If anyone wants to share their themes, send them to me – ian@prowl.org (and what credits you want in the single line credit space) and I’ll put it onto the theme server :)

Ian,

Is there a config file that lets the app know how many screens there are & what guages are on them, with there position & there limits ?

Would be nice to be able to sit & layout the screens / guages limits etc…..

Hi

Yes, there is a dashboardLayout configuration file in the .torque folder, which is a straight properties list – the file isn’t really designed to be modified by hand, but is human-readable

The app lets you layout the dashboard as you want in the dashboard screen itself – merely press-and-hold on the screen to bring up a list of options of what you can do

here’s one i did, a “TORQUE PRO” branded “green sonar” style. minimal border for largest gauge faces, etc. using the properties file the length of the needle does not change..? latest version of Torque Pro on gingerbread android.

i would also like to see these properties:

needle tip color (the end of the needle can have different color)
needle tip % (the % of total length that is the tip)
display start (using 12hr clock, the hour where needle starts)
display end (using 12hr clock, the hour where needle stops)

i didnt do a full theme yet, what do you think of the green sonar style theme? i was working on making replca of autometer phantom-II white-faced gauges but it just doesnt work on smart phone…

Hi, I can change the dial background individually with the recent update but is there any way to change the text colour ie a completely different gauge than all the other displayed.
Thanks Peter.

Love the Audi theme – make sure you do one with standard units (psi and F°)

ALSO –
I loved the Revo themed one on page 3, we need an APR theme based on the Audi theme for us APR chipped peeps

TIA

The units are defined via settings, not the theme.

It would be quite nice to have access to the colors used for the green blinking “refresh” light, the tick line width (as opposed to the length we can change now), and separate control over the minor tick dimensions. I’m trying to emulate the VW Golf TDI dial style and these characteristics are the biggest stumbling block in getting it to a perfect match. I would also *love* access to the color used to “light” the background on the On/Off (non-zero state) indicators.

Also, I haven’t been able to override the background of my “boost on” light, based on PID 16716290/0xff1202 (I tried adding images named dial_background_ff1202.png and display_background_ff1202.png but neither overrode the default image, dial_background.png.

One more issue is that I can’t seem to change the title of the “Clock” widget (from the displayed text, I can readily recognize the meaning and not having “Clock” onscreen would help reduce clutter).

Ok I really want mine to say Ram, so is there a way I can make it? Is there a program I need to make gauges?

I made some gauges for my Dodge Ram. I know Ian doesn’t want logos and such, but if anyone wants to manually install it, I’m willing to host them. Is that okay?

Screenshot of different gauge styles:

Dude, I’d love a copy of your theme!

I really like what some people have done with the themes (the dodge and mitsubishi ones look /really/ nice! as do many of the other submitted themes!). I need to do some research on ‘reasonable use’ for the icons as i really want to include them (but want to make sure it’s done properly so I don’t tread on any of the manufacturers toes with regards to their logos, which are likely trademarked), so will be having another look at this. Hopefully I will be able to include some of the work done by people on the theme server, or find some acceptable way to provide access to them

Hey guys, new to these forums. Just downloaded the app yesterday, it’s awesome!
Anyways, I’m working on a theme now for my 2000 Saab 9-5 and I finally figured out how to test it with Torque.
It’s coming together, but I’ve run into a problem.
I can get the dials and displays that I designed to work fine, but I don’t think my properties.txt document is getting read.
This is the whole content of that document:

dialTickInnerRadius=1.25
dialTickOuterRadius=1.34
dialNeedleLength=1.5
displayIndicatorColour=#c91400
displayTickColour=#00dc61
displayTextTitleColour=#8e8924
displayTextValueColour=#c91400
font=visitor2.ttf

Nothing is changed. The font is the original and all the text and ticks are white.
I’m not sure what I did wrong, but if anyone could help me, that would be great!

Thanks,
Ryan

Once I figure out what I’m doing wrong on my theme, I may be able to do something for you, if only because of my love of Saabs. 😀
