With the latest update 1.4.6 we can now view what were getting for PID’s per second. I’m wondering what people are getting for refresh rates with their different cars and OBDII devices. This info could be useful for the wiki page for people interested in buying a specific OBDII Bluetooth device.

Protocol or Vehicle

I’m getting 17 PIDs/sec with a PLX Kiwi bluetooth on a ISO 15765 CAN (500 kBit/s) protocol Car 2010 Mercury Milan.

Hi

When trying to get as fast a PID rate as possible, make sure you have the following options set in the ‘OBD2 adapter settings’:

Faster Communication – Ticked
Disable ELM327 Auto timing adjust – Un-ticked

This will then give you the fastest PID rate possible with your combination of phone, OBD2 adapter, and ECU

So even though I have a OBDLink MX the PID speed is limited to the ECU?

My PID Rate is around 16PID/Sec

put the bird in the OBD2/ELM adapter preferences – Faster communications
or write to the initialization string: atst32 or atst10

yep most of the time the car system is the limiting factor

all my car are in the 35 pid range … not sure about your specifically

i tried the mx wifi to check if that would change ..and was the exact same

custom pid tend to slow down allot the refresh rate

but for some reason they don’t affect the pid speed test ..i think there are not tested in that menu
