I’ve still had no luck! .. anyone else manage to establish a connection to the ECU using Consult? Torque still only gets to the point of connecting to the BT adapter, but no further ..

Hi all
I ‘ve been following up this topic for quite some time know (unfortunately not long or early enough to prevent me from buying torque pro and the trackelectronics adapter)since I’m in exactly the same spot with my 1999 Nissan Micra. My assumption is that getting torque pro to work with the trackelectronics adapter should be something fairly doable for Ian, especially given that the (free) BlueFrom applet can connect to the ECU just fine.
Just remain hopeful that some time in the foreseeable future torque pro will really implement the Nissan Consult protocol.

Hello,

no luck here, either.
Car is an NX2000.
I can confirm that the trackelectronics adapter is working, as i have used it with a different app.

That app, however, isn’t capable of logging the data to use it in overlays for my GoPro videos, nor does it feature a track recorder.

Would really help with my video stuff.

I’d even pay some extra money for a Consult plugin.

Agreed – would happily pay for a consult plugin! Piemmm, if there’s anything we can do to help you here mate, let us know! Happy to send over more logs, or whatever we can do.

I can also confirm my Track Electornics BT Adapter works with other android apps (though unreliably), it establishes a connection and picks up basic voltage / RPM readings. Torque looks infinitely better though, and I’d love to be using this app for my monitoring ..

Don’t know if the people involved in development have seen these documents before, but a (mostly) complete description of the consult protocol along with a list of generic register entries can be found
Here and Here respectively.

I believe there are also engine-specific lists for SR20, KA24 and VG30, though I don’t have these.

My trackelectronics adapter works fine.
It reads multiple things when using the right app, rpm, speed, temperatures, A/F ratio, ignition timing, etc.

That app just is really ugly.

Agree with Blexta and Jackal87 …..
I wouldn’t mind either paying some extra money to get a consult plugin. Its a pitty not being able to utilize this magnificent pair of torque pro + consultBT adapter

Just got my TrackElectronics adaptor today to find that it actually doesnt work with torque :( I got all my other windows Consult apps going, as well as BlueFrom on android, but Torque never connects to the ECU. I did see a value pop up for engine coolant sporadically, but nothing else. Torque actually (effectively) hangs the BT adaptor, such that other apps cant connect to it after exiting without restarting the car.
(car = R34 skyline)

I sent off some debug logs. Hopefully some progress can be made.

I got the same problem with this adapter. I use it in RB25DE engine. I brought this adapter from trackelectronics and use fine with Nissan Data Scan on my notebook, it work fine. Any update for Torque on Nissan consult?

Im really keen for it to work as well.

I believe the Nissan diesels (patrol) use a slightly different timing value in the software and or hardware, found here http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/nissan-patrol-gu-gr-10/2-8-gu-gets-ecutalk-47448/index3.html#post394470

I really want this to work and like others have said, will pay for the plug in.

Hi, any updates on the Nissan Consult compatibility with Torque Pro?

I have downloaded the Torque Pro app and purchased the Track Electronics adapter and followed all instructions previously mentioned (used the ‘Nissan Consult’ protocol) but still cannot connect to the ECU.

I hope the development team could look into the app side further… Thanks!

I currently have the engine from a 1998 Nissan Silvia (same as the AUS 200SX). I have a USB FTDI Consult adapter and am able to connect to the ECU using the Nissan Data Scan I app for android, so I know my hardware checks out.

Torque recognizes the adapter, as soon as I plug it into my phone, a Torque prompt pops up asking to use the device. I’ve played around with the settings, but can’t seem to get Torque to connect to the ECU via the Consult port.

Is there anything I can do to help development for Torque Pro? I’d rather avoid purchasing a separate app for this one vehicle when I prefer using Torque.

Did you set the protocol to “Nissan Consult (Beta)” …
just a thought.

I sent in two debug logs this morning playing around with adapter settings. Still can’t get a connection to ECU. Yes, I’ve selected Nissan Consult in the vehicle profile settings.

I’m wondering if the app isn’t recognizing my adapter, the status screen shows “connected via usb” but there is no additional info about the adapter itself.

Here’s a screen shot of the NDSI app showing connected to my ECU:

Hi There, I have an R34 GTT Skyline coupe which I just found out that I need to run a wire from the ECU’s CLK to the consult port to view Engine data with ECU talk :( So i will do. BUT can someone please tell me how the development is going with NISSAN CONSULT Plug In? Im sure it been in Beta for over 3 years? I would pay extra Just to have it work with Torque :)
