Country: Australia
Make: Ford
Model: AU Falcon Series 3 XR8
Year: 2002
Adapter: ELM327 Bluetooth
Known issues: Will not talk to ECU. Scans through the protocols after connecting to the device, straight past J1850PWM which the vechicle uses, then gives an error message asking if the ignition is switched on.

Torque Pro with generic Chinese ELM327 clone (generic orange sticker. Bluetooth sees it as “CHX” with key 6789)

Country: United States of America
Make: Mini
Model: Cooper S
Year: 2006
Known issues: just watching a few monitors. Worked fine.

Country: United States of America
Make: Honda
Model: CR-V AWD
Year: 2008
Known issues: just watching a few sensors. Worked fine.

Country: United States of America
Make: Pontiac
Model: Firebird TransAm WS/6
Year: 2000
Known issues:

Most sensors seem to work right. I’m still trying to pick the right device to use it with. I’m probably going to get a tablet with GPS and webcam to dedicate to the car.

Viewing on my phone (Samsung Transform Ultra) is too small to be useful.

Viewing on my tablet (HP Touchpad with Cyanogenmod ICS 4.0.4) is great, but no GPS. Tethering GPS is hit and miss so far. The camera doesn’t work in this setup. That’s not a Torque problem though.

I did a test video yesterday on the phone. I just viewed the raw video, and the included HP and Torque numbers were wrong. Like, dropping to 0/0 while accelerating. When I glanced at the screen on the phone, it had numbers, although I couldn’t read them.

In the past, I’ve also used Torque to diagnose problems on the other cars mentioned above.

Country = US
Make = Jeep
Model = Grand Cherokee
Year = 2012
Engine = V6 Pentastar 3.6

Works fine for all of the usual readouts. Trip odometer resets at every engine start. Still looking for oil pressure and temp (displays on dash, must be custom PIDs.

Using USB Elm Compact and BASF Bluetooth dongles both from Amazon, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and Viewsonic GTablet.

There is a custom PID for the oil temp, see
