After a lot of this and that my torque App (Android) doesn’t work with Opel Insignia and Bluetooth ODB2 dongle. Other apps (f.e. Car Scanner) work very fine. Any ideas?
I would like to show you (screenshots) but I do not know how to provide them?!

Hi!

First, make sure no other apps are connected to the OBD2 adapter as this will prevent Torque from being able to connect – the OBD2 adapters only allow one connection at a time

Next, make sure in the Settings-> OBD2 adapter settings you have use the ‘Choose bluetooth device’ option and selected the OBD2 adapter from the list of paired bluetooth devices in the phone

Then quit and restart the app (to speed the reconnection process up) and you should then be connected – if not, go to the Adapter Status screen and see what the status of the adapter is

I closed and reopend the app. No connection. Status is: “connecting with ‘ODB-Adapter’” -> “‘OBD Adapter’ not responding, retrying…”

Hi!

What phone and android version are you using? and what kind of OBD adapter are you using (do you have a web link to it?)

I use an Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra with Android 12.
The OBD2-Adapter is this (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07XTGNX3Q).

Hi!

Thanks – do you know if that adapter is ELM327 compatible (I cannot see any mention of ELM327 in the listing which may mean it’s not ELM327 compatible)

I also tried this (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07CP632CL) and it doesn’t work either.
With tools like Car Scanner, as mentioned before, the communication works quite well.

Hi!

So far it looks like something is still connected to the adapter and is preventing Torque from being able to connect to it, or Torque has been told to connect to the wrong bluetooth device in the App settings or Vehicle Profile advanced settings

You will need to ensure that any other app is not already connected (or has left the connection open) with the adapter. Best way to do this is to temporarily disable any app (or even laptops which may auto connect even with no OBD software running if you have paired the adapter to it)

Then unplug the adapter and re-insert it and start Torque.

As long as you have selected the correct bluetooth device in the app settings (and not a previously paired duplicate or car handsfree kit by accident) then Torque will be able to connect

Hi!

I have had one of these adapters on my workbench for a couple of days now. (The EXZA HHOBD Mini, not the other larger one)

It is faulty – the firmware on the adapter does not send the prompt ‘>’ character under certain conditions (most notably after receiving long canbus replies from multiple ECUs).

This will cause all sorts of pauses and hangs with many OBD apps which may be sending long CAN frames – for this reason I’m classing this particular adapter as faulty as it does not function correctly within the ELM327 specification due to the above bug

Please feel free to link this reply to the seller so they can pass this up their chain and get their adapters fixed.

You was right … my old adapter was the source of issue. I ordered a new one now. At the beginning everything went very well. My Torque Pro connected super. And then and now I get interrupts every ~ 15-30 sec.
Some idea how to fix this?

Hi!

The only way to fix the adapter is a firmware update for the adapter itself (if it can even be updated) – there are already workarounds in the app to try to get the adapter functioning, however if the adapter is faulty, then it’s faulty and not going ever to work 100% until the vendor fixes it

some news here.
I returned my adapter, ’cause no way to make it work.

I now ordered this (no adv here; just information) https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07SQLY39V and this is working fine.
