Multiple profiles or OBD Protocols?

Hey all,

I have searched the forums and I’m unable to find anything related to this.

I’m trying to see if Torque has the ability to communicate with two profiles at once or if the app can communicate with two different OBD protocols at once.

Background:

My car is an 04 Mercedes E55 AMG (Benz did not monitor AFR’s until 2008+). It uses the KWP2000 protocol. I am able to connect and read most of the gauges that I need. IAT, timing, vacuum/boost. Things like that.

I also have an AEM AFR gauge that has the ability to send data over CAN, 11 or 29 BIT, 250k or 500k rate. I am able to connect to the gauge and read my AFR with the custom PID that is setup but, it is not while connected to the KWP2000 protocol, only over CAN.

Is getting data from two different protocols possible? I’d like to be able to log all info instead of either-or. lol

i’m no guru but if the speed is the same i suspect each module would respond to it request

maybe a bit of tweeking maybe necessary

but for the price of torque …. it’s a cheap test

I’m using Pro. The speed for the mercedes can bus is different than what the gauge puts out.

in Torque, you can create external PIDs for different protocols in one profile
lay out the data on your PID CAN protocol

The Gauge CAN is using – 11BIT, 500k rate

This is the PID that I have setup. It cannot be read via the kwp2000 profile but, works with CAN profile.

OBD2 PID: 0124
Long Name: WAFR
Short Name: WAFR
Minimum Value: 0
Maximum Value: 30
Scale Factor: x1
Unit Type: A/F
Equation: (A*256+B)/32768*14.65
ODB Header: 7E6

I should add that I am able to configure certain PID’s and “ECU’s” for the gauge. I have been able to communicate with the gauge via the CAN profile that I have set up. I have attempted all PID’s and ECU’s without success or some gibberish response which is not the same as when loaded with the CAN profile.

for kwp2000 profile are you using standard torque sensors?
with adress ECU = 10, or 12, or 15

try adding such an external PID on the dashboard to the display by kwp2000 profile

hey do you have any info on these command

i could find some on the atsp and attp that was saying it was old command for my device

but didn’t find any data on the “NAT” command

ASCII control characters “\n” – LINE FEED – Moves the print position down one line
all commands for the ELM327 adapter begin with “AT” or “at”
from here “\n”+”at” = “\nat”

Is there a way to improve the speed of data logging with the commands?
