If you have not resolved this yet, there is a setting inside torque itself where you can change the startup screen of the app itself to load up to the dashboard instead of the start screen.

This is basically what I am doing right now because the home screen of the torque app is all wonky on my screen for some reason, putting everything on the screen in the bottom right corner of the app.

Just go to settings – General Preferences – Startup in Dashboard.
