Anyone done any reverse engineering of OBD2/CAN data?

I wrote a OBD scanner app to read all possible PIDs. Working on a 2014 Forester, I have found the steering angel by accident. I after CVT and Engine oil temps as those published here and via google are failing.

2014 Forester

it,s mostly time consuming
having access to some car data helps to know the spec and limits of the sensor …
sometime you can replace the sensor with a variable resistor and see with value is changing
but i would say you have more chance on a car specific forum than here

Engine oil temp PID for Subaru Forester:
“Name”,”ShortName”,”ModeAndPID”,”Equation”,”Min Value”,”Max Value”,”Units”,”Header”
“Forester engine oil temp”,”Oil temp”,”A800000113″,”R0-40″,”-40″,”130″,”oC”,”7E0″
It should return temperature in Celsius.
