Post Mercedes M272 Fuel trims

Hi All,

This engine is closed loop always unless your foot is off the gas. I am seeing very strange fuel trim numbers from Torque and I wondered if they can be trusted.

For example at WOT short term trims got to 25% on both banks and stay there until out of WOT. Long term trims go up to about 18% on one bank and about 20% on the other bank at WOT.

This should signify either a massive exhaust leak or a major vacuum leak.

The vehicle runs great, has no codes and is as economical as ever.

I have read that Mercedes has different values/meaning for the standard OBD trims?

Does anyone have any light to shed on this before I start ripping the thing to bits looking for leaks?

Sorry to reply to my own thread. Another person posted that his hand held OBD scanner was also showing major trim issues but Mercedes XEntry said everything was cool.

Just more info.
