Post Any way to detect USB on startup?
on: April 23, 2019 (GMT)

I recently swapped android head units in my truck. The old one supported non-phone OBD2 Bluetooth adapters, but the new one only uses bluetooth for a proprietary phone link setup (invisible to android settings, direct through the MCU).

I decided to swap to using a hidden USB adapter with an inline splitter… which does work. Yay.

The issue (or, perhaps, a request) is in order for torque to detect the device, I have to replug on every startup with torque stopped; I cannot leave it plugged in, start up, and have torque start automatically and see the device.

From reading the USB notes in the settings menu, it seems this is the expected behavior.

My question is, inside or outside of torque (it’s not rooted but IIRC it can be), is there a way to make it so I can run torque on startup and see the device with replugging before starting torque? Maybe some sort of startup process to reset the USB bus (or just the serial adapter) once on the home screen?
