I swapped a Chevy 4.8 LS engine into a car and I am using Torque Pro on an Android tablet for my coolant temp gauge. The problem is the temperature is maxing out at 159.8 degrees F and will not go any higher. I plugged my laptop into the OBDII port and my datalogging software is showing a coolant temp of 200 degrees using the same sensor info, so it’s clearly Torque that is wrong. Has anyone come across this issue?

Thanks.

I think the PID temperature you are using is not suitable for this engine.

^^^^^^YES. I think @cintakc is absolutely correct.

The ECU has to calculate temperature from the output of the temperature sensor (probably based on some temp-resistance curve). Then OUTPUT it’s result on the OBDII ‘ECT’ pid. You swapped in an engine with a sensor likely having completely different electrical/resistance characteristics. SO: As we say here in South Texas – All bets are OFF. Try using the ECT sensor from the old engine.
