Post Can't read faults after I 'clear faults on ecu'.

Hi

Faults codes read from ecu using torque pro elm327. Car is a seat Leon 1.2 tsi 2012. Code is P0303 powertrain cylinder 3 misfire.

I cleared the faults from ecu using the option from the menu. The fault code disappears as expected.

Took car for a run while misfiring but the app does not read the fault code anymore! Tried a number of times over a few days to read fault code with no success. What am i doing wrong?

FYI Car was took to garage and had spark plugs replaced. Fault sorted.

Jack.

Did the car misfire often/aggressively enough for the ECU to generate a code?

If it didn’t then there wouldn’t be a code for Torque to read.

Yes. Accelerating on a hill caused ECR light, engine management light and traction control light to show on dash. Engine management light went out when foot lifted off accelerator. ECR and traction light stayed on and car had rough idle for about five mins. Car left running on idle and lights eventually go out and idle runs as normal. Car would run ok if not pushed.
