So the first thing I am trying to do is export my current theme so that I can look through it and try to understand it. Problem is when I export it the file never shows up anywhere on either phone I have tried it on. Both Motorola Droids, one older, one newer. If I make a change to the configuration/layout, there isn’t even a file on the phone that has the current time/date of the change. Where is this being stored?? My .torque/themDir has some files with today’s date but none are even close to the time that I made the changes and nowhere is there a file by the name that I exported. What am I missing?

I can make a basic change my properties.txt file (like dial color) and it does impact my layout.

Yes, I am already showing hidden items but still can’t find it. A path or directory name would be helpful…

I was actually exporting the LAYOUT from within the menu system in Torque Pro – sorry about the wrong terminology, still very new to this. I did find that ‘dashboards’ appeared in the appropriate directory but only after I had restarted my phone, disconnected my phone and re-connected to the computer.

I guess what I really need is a newbie guide to understanding what is in these files and how to manipulate/modify to my taste?

I have read that page, thanks. What I am having trouble with is how the .dash file relates to the properties.txt file and how/what values are related to what gauges? This is my dash file, but it is just a confusing mess to me. Isn’t there somewhere that the values are described in detail? It’s like trying to code a program without knowing what the language is…

OK, but the properties.txt file has virtually nothing in it that relates to my current layout. I see where it is showing my customization of the Boost gauge (start/end position) and my dial color to white, but outside of that it is a completely stock file. I don’t even have an RPM gauge, yet it shows in this file. If all the details are kept in the .dash file, how do I control/edit them in the properties.txt file when there is virtually nothing in here related to my setup??

OK, thanks for your help – I do appreciate it. I am still having trouble wrapping my head around how these files interact. It just seems bizarre that ALL the info for the layout and design is already in the .dash file and there is virtually nothing in the properties.txt file. Isn’t there some better resource around beyond the very limited page here on the Wiki?
