That's pretty cool - the only things I can really add to that is that the trip logging is driven by the 1 second updates that the GPS chip provides (I will however mod it to speed up if a 10Hz (10 times a second) external bluetooth GPS is used (like the QStarz 818xt)
Oil temperature on VW is a pain to find over OBD2. I'm working on VAGCOM still (unfortunately the first bit of sun this weekend stopped me). I have all the kit, but getting it to do what I want over USB is taking longer than I wanted
