Hi,

I discovered text-to-speech alarms when I heard the "Icy conditions ..." message. Very cool.

But it took me a while to figure out what it was, given it was pronounced as french text !

-> you should not use the phone default speech language (unless the alarm texts are also localized), but force english since texts are in english.
(ex. google translate app does adapt the text-to-speech language to the text language).

Agree.
I'm having the english texts being pronounced with spanish accent, which is hilarious.

Also, I think there may be a bug. My system locale is set to English, so using the system language shouldn't make Torque speak in Spanish.

Only things that can be related to spanish in my mobile are:
- Most of the time, I set the virtual keyboard to spanish.
- Sometimes, I set the speech language of an specific application to spanish (mostly in GPS navigation apps)

Other than that... I believe I don't use spanish for anything. So I wonder where Torque got the idea to use spanish.

Just started using this application today and found the same problem.

Any idea why, almost two years later, that bug is not fixed yet?

I've no problem with english spoken alerts but Torque should be able to select the correct settings in android TTS API.

On my system it happens when there's no Internet connection.

How to force a specific language?
