Hi there. I got a P1901 error the other day along with a CEL, which by the way torque app could easily fix 🙂
My dealer is quite far away so I sent them the error code. They use a GM techII for diagnostics, and said that there should be 7 sub codes available to correctly identify this issue. Does torque app allow to get this extra information ? For what i read this error means several different things for each manufacturer.
Thanks and regards
I use a Tech II, the replacement for the Tech I and I am not aware of any sub code feature unless they are referring to freeze frames. What type of car is this?
Thanks for the reply. It's a Saab 9-3 TiD. I've been told Tech II has attached codes for this primary P1901 (Particle filter related), such as 00, 01, OF, .... to specifically understand what's going on. It would be great if this application could display this.
Regards.
Ah, I have never tried it on a Saab. The Tech II has features that are unique to various sub brands and those don't appear for others so that's why I never saw it.
Short answer: Not yet, however I now know where the subcodes are kept so expect it to be added at some point
Cool ! looking forward to that !

@pieman
Thats great news as there are alot of codes for my car, an 01 Vauxhall Omega 2.6. But I get very few readings/values. Yes, I have the cheap Chinese tat adapter that sometimes works with some items. Then it works with different values each time i use it. Torque clears the codes and switches off the EML light.
Tech 2 can't come quick enough and may encourage me to buy a non-Chinese adapter.
Cheers
Dave
