Hi there,

I have a very confusing question that makes absolutely no sense to me what so ever. I'm using the ELM327 (yes, I know, unreliable) and when I try to receive gas mileage, it shows me nothing (average or instant). Now, my friend also has Torque, and when he sat down in my car, his phone connected to my ELM327, and started to show him my gas mileage! So, in a nutshell, same car, same ELM327, same app, but his shows gas mileage and mine won't!

Any opinions or answers are greatly appreciated!

This is a guess but go to settings then OBD2 Adapter Settings and see if "Don't calculate MPG/Fuel" is checked? Like I said this is just a guess why torque isn't calculating MPG.

Nope, not checked on either of ours. Does anyone know the formula Torque uses to calculate MPG? If so, I can see if there's any kind of conflict going on with it.

Hi

Have you connected for a while, then checked the 'Adapter Error Rate' in the adapter settings - this should always be 0, if it's above 0 then it means your adapter has issues and should be replaced.

If you can, start the app with MPG displays visible (re-create them as well just to be sure the display didn't get bugged). Let the app connect to the vehicle for a minute or two and pull information. Then press menu->more...->send debugging info. Write your forum name and that it's about MPG in the description (so I know who the debug is from) then press 'send'. I'll have a look at what's going on here for you

Hi

I've gotten issues but I haven't noticed anything wrong, and since my friend used the same adapter and got MPG even with issues, that isn't the problem. I'll send you the debugging info later today, but after much searching would this equation work?

OBD2 Mode and PID
Empty

Minimum Value
0.0

Maximum Value
100.0

Scale Factor
x1

Equation
[0d]*71.07/[10]
[0d] = VSS
[10] = MAF g/s

OBD Header
Empty

That's what I'm gonna try as soon as I get off work.

Thanks!

I've sent you the Debugging Information title Harrisrwe/harrisrwe. I sent you two because the first one said it failed to send but then said it did. The equation stated above seemed like it worked. I just drove around our parking lot so it wasn't a really valid, in depth test, but if it's included in the debug, take a look

Thanks!

The equation didn't work, however, changing the decimal place to read 7.017 seems like it made it work correct, however, I still can't get the original stock MPG to display.
