Both do not have the bluetooth capabilities needed for this. Or let me put it this way: The would of course have them but Apple does not want you to really use bluetooth.

No chance to get this to work on an Apple device. Only a WLAN adapter could do it but those are expensive and the market for those is probably small.

Just got a new Iphone 4S and it has bluetooth.
If the developer is listening I would love to get this app for my Iphone as I can't find anything close from the Apple store.
If anyone knows of an apple app that is anywhere near this good please let me know.

I love this app so much I'm thinking about grabbing a cheap old Android phone (or 7" tablet) and dedicating it *just* to this.

It would be nice to have it working on iOS so I could have a single device that is already in a dock in the car... but I suppose we can only wait (and beg).

Guys, again: It is not that Iphone/pad wouldn´t HAVE bluetooth. The Apple bluetooth just doesn´t support this kind of bluetooth transmission. Therefore it is impossible to develope torque for the iOS platform on a bluetooth basis. Only WLAN could work but those adaptors are expensive and I wonder if it would be worth it to develope on a new platform for a few people. But I wrote all this above already 😉

Elm327 wifi adapters are around thirty dollars. The app selection is really weak on the other side and an app that supports custom PIDs would certainly benefit the author (whoever eventually does it) with some 400 million active devices give or take. Better yet (for the author) an affordable app with in-app purchase for vehicle specific custom PIDs as a secondary revenue stream.
I wish I had the hardware and ability to develop for ios. With infomercials and ebay peddling cheap obd2 devices more and more people are becoming aware of (and more comfortable with) what they can do with their vehicle's diagnostic port.
