Hi,
I'm trying out Torque and I very well know that my vehicle is OBDII compliant (as I've got some desktop softwares to work accurately).
However Torque aint working as the 'Car' symbol flashes continuously and doesnt turn green. I believe it is trying to identify my car and it cannot since the VIN details stored in my ECU is invalid. I mean there are some junk characters in VIN area (again, I got to know this via desktop softwares).
Can I bypass torque to just work without bothering what vehicle it is connected to as I'm sure it will work ?

I'm afraid that won't be the issue as VIN requests are done after protocol discovery has completed, and you aren't even getting that far.
Main culprits of non connection are:
a) Your ignition key is 'off'. The engine does not have to be running, but the ignition does need to be on
b) If your ECU supports OBD2, then it is likely to be the adapter, especially if you are using a Ford, or other ECU that uses the J1850-PWM protocol with one of the 'cheap' ebay adapters. Particularly the one with the blue/yellow label that has "supports all obd2 protocols" written on the bottom. Mainly because it doesn't support all obd2 protocols.
c) You have a 1998/9 Ford Ranger, which doesn't fully support OBD2
What adapter are you using and what year of manufacture is the ECU/Vehicle?

Thanks so much for replying to my post.
I'm using an adaptor picked up from Amazon (might be similar to cheap eBay one, but I cannot confirm for sure). My ECU (BOSCH EDC15) is manufactured in 2007 and vehicle is a local made in India.
It is OBD2 compliant and as I said earlier, it does work with Desktop software (OBD-II Scanmaster, wOBD, Digimoto etc to name a few).
So this means that the adaptor is working fine.
Secondly what does a flashing car symbol mean ?
Also I get a message saying "ECU Connected OK" however the car symbol keeps on flashing and it does not gather any data.
