No Dodge support?

What the heck? I was under the impression that this app supported Dodge, all it has are the generic PIDS. Quite frankly, this app is useless to me because I can do the key dance in both my Mopar vehicles and get the codes in seconds, I can also zip up to Autozone and borrow their code-reader. The app is still worth the $5.00, but seriously, what would it take to get some Dodge lovin' out there? I would gladly pay a reasonable sum of money for a Mopar extended PID pack or something.

Hi!

Dodge is supported in the app - early Dodges however didn't support many OBD2 sensors, what age is the vehicle you are trying on?

The app will work on *any* OBD2 compliant vehicle, however it's up to the manufacturer if they fully implemented the standard OBD2 PIDs, generally speaking all manufacturers have done this in recent vehicles (however dodges from 1999 and before may not support many sensors)

You may find that someone has already made available extended PIDs for older dodge vehicles, you would be better asking in a dodge specific forum however

So why still no Dodge PIDs? I have a 2001 Ram and I figured that Torque would have support for one of the 3 top manufacturers in America.

Are they rare or encoded or something. Really a bummer.

Hi

Torque supports all the standard OBD2 PIDs that are part of the OBD2 standard. however, Dodge (depending on what model you have) support very few of those PIDs(sensors) in some models of their vehicle.

Unfortunately, there is also little information about dodge extended PIDs on the web, hence little manufacturer specific support for their extended manufacturer specific PIDs.

Newer dodge vehicles are better in terms of their PID support - however their vehicles from around 2000 don't support many OBD2 sensors.

Torque supports PID plugins, and also allows users to enter their own PIDs (sensors) as they know them. If you find a source for dodge PIDs then the app will accept them and then be able to pull the information from the vehicle ECU, however Dodge haven't released this information. Also if someone finds/works our a list of PIDs for the app, then they can put this into a CSV file or plugin which can then be imported into the app.

I have a 2001 chrysler and Torque works fine with it. Reads all the sensors I need like A/F, temp etc.

Dont get me wrong guys, TORQUE works on my 2001Ram but I would like to monitor knock and tranny temps. No biggie and I am sure down the road someone will discover the hidden PID formulas.

I am actively hunting though debugs and scans people are sending looking for transmission temperature PIDs, that's one of the things I am hunting down for dodge due to the number of people wanting it - if someone else works them out and shares the info then it could be added to the app easily enough (even right now by yourself if you had them, via the PID editor into the app)

Hey I know this is an old thread but was wondering if there was any way I could help. I have a 2010 Dodge Charger RT and I have a diablosport predator tune in it. I noticed data logging with my predator views many more sensors than torque does, like ST and LT knock retard. I'm assuming the predator has extra PIDs torque doesn't. Would it be helpful if I sent you a data log from my predator? Or I can even copy and send the original factory tune .crom file for the car. Let me know how I can help.

Also I have a degree in computer science so if what I need to do is technical don't worry:)

Also one last request. Is there any way to read transmission fluid level through a PID? I know the dealer uses a starscan, just didn't know if it worked the same. I want to flush my tranny and having the dealer do it is not desired.

I have a 98 Caravan with a serious case of Can't find out whats wrong" A friend brought over his Old School OBDII reader and it connected and scanned for fault codes just fine. I just received the cheapo Bluetooth dongle and plugged it in. It lit up and paired with my phone (My Touch 4) but Could never establish a connection while the the Dodge. I moved it over to my Sonata and it connected fine. In the dodge, no bluetooth, in the Sonata, bluetooth no problem. What gives?

I have a bluetooth adapter for a PC but how do I run Torque on the PC?

Seems like I have all the pieces, they just don't work together.

(Fluid level on your charger is done with a dipstick at the dealer through the sealed tube. The only thing they are doing with data is verifying the trans temp and using it on the chart in the service procedure. The level up the dipstick depends on the temp of the fluid.)

(My results were similar. My elm 327 works on a 98 Jeep, 98 stratus, 2007 Magnum but not on my 2001 stratus sedan, 2005 neon, or 95 Avenger.)

Some of the cheaper adapters may work for
some protocols while not working for others.

There is a READ ME: thread which suggests how
to troubleshoot these issues.
