Hi all. I have the pro version running in my ford galaxy 1.9 tdi 2001 (VW engine). I have put the tank capacity in at 70 litres or 15.2 imperial gallons, but it shows empty by the time half a tank has been really used. The mpg is way off, by approx 70%. I know this because I normally get 600 miles from 15 gallons, so should be reading 40mpg, but reads about 28mpg, unless I tweak the ratio in the vehicle setup from 1 to 1.7.
Any ideas? I have the eml327 bluetooth adapter, with a samsung galaxy s3.
Thanks
Bump
I have also had to increase the fuel tank size to 129 litres (approx 1.7 times), so that it reads empty when it actually is empty. It is still only a 70 litre tank.
I have been using the mpg and have checked by filling the tank at this point take the mileage or zero the clock drive for 3 to 7 days or approx a third of a tank down ,fill the tank again take the mileage driven and the money spent to calibrate your cars efficiency....
I have done this over months and about £500 of fuel mine will drive 4 miles on a £ which is 25.4576 mpg this figure is about
a 5 hundreths of a mile out compared to the torque programes longterm average for mpg......
The tank indicator canbe of i feel you need to everytime i fill the tank Max the indicator...there willbe alwaysd at least 5 %
more in the tank than the manurfacturers stipulate for safety.
kind regards kdag
Hi!
The best way is to work out consumption from fillup information as mentioned - the tank sensor (if the vehicle supports it) can be a 'relative' reading in some implementations
Also, worth checking you are using the correct units (Imperial Gallons vs US Gallons are different by about 20%) and making sure 'Enhanced MPG Calculation' is enabled in the settings
There's some more info on http://torque-bhp.com/wiki/MPG which should hopefully be helpful
Hi, I have been through the suggestions and it is still miles out. By using the multiplier and telling it the fuel tank is also 1.7 times bigger than it is, the mpg and the fuel remaining works out about right. The distance remaining is now way off! So I have just deleted that display.... I know that at 40mpg I will get 600 miles to a tank. Driven easy at 65mph I get 52mpg, or 780 to a tank.
Its better than not having a trip computer, and the map and speed logging feature with my onboard cameras is a useful feature.
