Hi!

Torque was built (for a while) using the calcs from an old merc diesel C220 estate, as well as a smart car, and several other vehicles

If you want (as accurate as possible) MPG calculations, then you'll need in the main app

* Enable 'faster communications' in the main app settings (to get the quickest updates using a good OBD adapter)
* Turn on 'enhanced MPG calculation' in the settings as well (this will enable extra sensor polling so that the calculation is as precise as it can get
* Ensure the vehicle profile is setup with the correct engine displacement. There's also an MPG trim and the Volumetric efficiency that can be changed that will affect the calculation in small ways, but the defaults should be accurate enough in most cases

The calculation should then be pretty accurate, provided that things like the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor is delivering correct readings (on vehicles that use them - old sensors can start to give incorrect AFM readings, which would also manifest as incorrect fuel/air mixtures)

Hello.

While I am OK with the (other) OBD-App I currently use with a cheap ELM327 Bluetooth dongle, there is one issue I don't like, and would switch to Torque (pro), if the MPG calculation actually works.

On all other apps I tried in the past the MPG (instant and with that others) were way off, either way low, or way high...

Someone mentioned that the App needs to be able to access the specific data (and that is often difficult on Mercedes), might work with specific fuel PIDs (which I don't know anything about). As far as I understand it, the app shall receive the information on current fuel usage (if accessible), and with that can do the necessary calculations (like per hour/ l/100km, etc).

What is the current state here with Torque?
Are the developers willing to work something out, if I provide necessary data for this vehicle when using Torque Pro app, or is it even working flawlessly on this vehicle and I don't know it.

I did not yet buy the app yet, because I only want it if I get accurate mpg values.
