Log Check Engine Light Status

Is it possible to record the status of the check engine light in the log file?

I use torque pro to record data related to a particular fault lets say for example Catalyst efficiency. I record data from all O2 sensors. It would be nice to know in the log when the Check engine light came on so I know at least approximately where in the logs the problem occurred.

Great app keep up the good work

I'll see if I can create a custom PID for this so you can 'log' the CEL status in an update - the webviewer also uploads this information (if you have told the app to periodically scan - in the speech settings)

Thanks for the quick response. I wasn't sure if the software was capable of logging CEL and I just didn't know how or it it was something that had to be added. I'll watch for this feature in the future and again great app keep up the good work.

Did anything come of this ? I have an instance where I think the CEL is not working and need to monitor the signal. Just an on/off button or light display would be fine.

@ vangough,

Isn't the "Freeze Frame" data (in the menu screen from the Fault Log) what you are looking for?

I always "send" the latest freeze frame to myself (email) before I clear fault codes, and find it very usefull. It is, I believe, a snapshot of relevant data at the instant the CEL is set.
