Figured I would start a thread where people could list bugs they have found.

1) Seems that as of a couple releases ago, the software no longer gets the correct problem codes from the ECU.

2) The dial display seems to not be centered after the screen is rotated. In portrait mode the medium dial will be centered, but as soon as you rotate to landscape it ends up having the center of the dial lined up with the bottom of the "snap to grid" box. When you go to move it, it seems the bounding box isnt centered on the dial display. --- Fixed

Thats all I have for now. Thanks Ian for a great product!

I have a DROID running 2.1 and using the same bluetooth unit as used by the developer, I am able to connect without any issue, but the gauges don't show any data. Despite being connected all the gauges remain at zero and dont deviate. I have tried changing the timing and speed options in 'settings' to no avail. The vehicle is an 09 Civic.

Any ideas?

Do you use the dials? If so... does the small green square light up? (its to the right of the center of the dial)
Try disabling the ELM protocol and reconnecting to see if that helps.
If not, ship Ian your connection log and see if he can tell what could be the issue.

thanks, got the debug - can you check torque on the android market and see if it says 'update available' or not and if it does try that version - I uploaded a new one a couple of hours ago that might have an effect on your problem (there was a multi-ecu bug that prevented torque from working - this should be fixed)

If it doesn't work after that then send me another debug and I'll have another look as I don't have a multi-ecu car here to test with.

Thanks!

I'd already disabled ELM but went back out to the car to confirm. Tried again and verified that there are no green lights on the gauges. The center of the gauges say "No Data."

I have used the adapter with a few other programs that work fine, but I really like the options and interface of Torque.

edit: Just saw your reply. I am updating now and will try again, reporting back soon.

Updated, problem persists. Sent a new log.

FWIW the lights on the dongle only come on for a few when connecting and 'identifying protocols.' Other than the red (presumably power) light, they stay off once connected.

I really appreciate the help.

Ok, I was able to see the problem, thanks for bearing with me. Looks like your cars ECUs send 6 byte headers instead of 3, I'm adding a fix and will push an update out as soon as I've tested the fault codes section, so sometime tonight with a bit of luck!

I've been attempting to get free version working on my Eris before buying the paid version. I already temped to buy even though it's not working for me. I've noticed all the work you have done. You are releasing updates all the time.

My first issue was connecting the Bluetooth. I belive this was realy an andriod problem. I did the firmwate to 2.1 V3 last week and the latest torque release today. I am now getting connected.

Now I have a problem with data. Nothing apears to comming through. I've also noticed the bluetooth drops every few minutes. It reconnects very quickly, like 1/2 a second. I've also looked in the logs. Just the GPS data there. I've tried tweaking settings but no luck. Any sugestions?

If it helps, I have tested the BT device with a latop. And the car is a 1996 Corolla.

Hi

I'm hoping tonights update (1.0.62) solves both your problems - you both appear to have multi ecu systems in your vehicles (usually one for transmission, and one for the engine) and the code in Torque is entirely untested at the moment because I don't have access to a vehicle to test it on.

This means you get to be beta testers 🙂

If this update still doesn't work (I won't be too suprised if it doesn't) then do the 'Send comms debug log' thing and I'll see how far we got and what else needs fixing. Hopefully it will only take a couple of tries before all the bugs are out!

Thanks!

I still have the same issue. Though it did say 'multi ECU system detected' (or something to that affect) at the top. Still 'no data' on all gauges. I will send a log now.

Ok, I've put a new version up this morning that fixes a bunch of holes found in the filtering code causing it to not work. Update from the android market and let me know how you get on - hopefully things should start working!

Got your debugs thanks, looks like some devices have issues with InputStream.available() that went in this morning. I will look for a better solution for a comms timeout tonight (I think this is the problem).

Hi Ian,

I just wanted to check if you got the logs I sent around 9:13 PM for the Volvo 850R not displaying any data.

I also wanted to ask you about the add free version. I do have access to paid apps in Canada but I cannot see the add free Torque in Market. Is there any other way to buy it?

Thanks again for the great support.

Hi, got the logs thanks, good news on the volvo side of things, not so good for the GTI, you should have 2 emails waiting.

The paid app should be visible for your country, do a search for 'obd' and they should both appear in the list of about 5 apps that search returns. If not, then something is going to be broken on googles side of things and that will be "somewhat irritating". The only thing I can suggest is having a good moan at google support!

I tried 1.0.68 on the 96 Corolla. It did eventualy connect, the car turned blue. However it never showed any data on the gauges. I sent some logs. It is progress. Thanks, T

Got the many debugs, thanks! I released a new version with a couple of comms fixes in about 3 hours ago, not sure if you have it yet installed. I'm getting hammered a bit by emails, I still am reading the forums but there's a lot of people to reply to at the moment 🙂

Try the new version(if you haven't already got it) and let me know, thanks!

Thanks Ian, it finally became available, I already purchased it.
