Got a problem with my 2010 astra j 1.8L. The outside switch of liftgate was totally not working, This gate is not designed to unlock via both remote key and console button. The only way to unlock it, is to push the button (switch) located out side the gate. I saw on the market there is a small device connectted to the OBD2 port to extend the functions like remote open/close windows, flash light when break or open the door, etc. So I guess maybe their is a way to unlock doors and liftgate by sending special comments via a OBD2 terminal. Anybody tried before?

Sadly functions like that require manufacturer specific commands to be sent, and no one seems to have made any plugins for torque for those functions.

The other issue is that there are very few manufacturers where enough reverse engineering has been done for those functions, with the most being focused on Ford vehicles where a wide range of configuration values can be edited, along with controlling windows, doors, and the trunk.

The issue largely seems to be that for someone to discover those hidden controls, they would effectively need to find a vehicle with a functional ECU that they are willing to test codes to the point of bricking it.
