Seriously. Seems like a forum that is led by the product developer and its purpose is to help product users with answers to problems, or shared thoughts and comments on the product, would be useful, but I have posted 3 times over a 1 month period with a question that is important to me about Torque's inability to monitor AVG MPG. Not 1 answer or thought from him. That is a shame. He states it gives MPG avg but it is nowhere even close, and I have asked about how to ensure I am setting the ap up correctly. I have asked about updates that will fix problems with the ap itself. Nothing. I purchased the ap and the OBD devise just for this and it is worthless and I have no faith I will ever see this 100 dollar investment work.
It seems to work well enough for me, but I haven't collected enough data to be able to compare against the car's counter (which is within ~1% on average compared to measurements).
It's an estimate though, so you shouldn't expect it to be accurate, just proportional to the real number.
Seems like most of the people using the forum have different priorities, and you should remember how much you paid for the app, and what 'commercial' software would cost.
What type of vehicle are you using this with?

No digital MPG display is accurate anyway. Calculate it yourself when you fill your tank... Miles divided by gallons of fuel. Torque is cool for engine codes, temps and other instant readouts, not so much for mpg.
Hi
MPG in Torque doesn't work for diesel, and I have stated this several times on the forum when the question has been raised on previous topics, support for it is currently a work in progress
But Petrol MPG will be quite accurate providing you have put in the correct engine displacement in the settings, if you haven't changed the default displacement from 1.6L, then you will definately get incorrect readings!

Ian
Average MPG is not accurate for me either. I was on a long trip this weekend(300miles) and Torque gave me average MPG 29 when in fact it was 24MPG. The problem is that when you are at high speed and let go the accelerator the instant MPG goes really high and brings the average up as well and then when you get back on the pedal the instant doesn't go low enough to bring the average back where it suppose to be.
Hi
It goes really high as most modern vehicles shut-off fuel when you are travelling at normal speeds and fully release the accelerator, so effectively you are using no fuel, hence the high MPG
Quick question - how high above sea level are you (approximately) and what vehicle did you use?
Thanks
Ian
I live in Miami so I am at approx sea level. I drive a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart.
ah, mitsubishi - they report the MAP at at different level to most other cars - this is probably why it is reading high as it will be affecting the calculation. I was hoping this was the reason.
I can fix this. Give me some time and you'll hopefully see this in 1.4.10
Ian
Thank you.
