Frequency of web logging

I'm trying to use Torque to monitor my gas usage, temperature, voltage, etc general car health measures. I got it setup to upload to my web server, and have a wireless access point installed in my car.

What I'm seeing is that the web-uploads are very frequent, every second or so most of the time. I'm trying to keep my bandwidth through the access point to a minimum, and the logging is chewing through bandwidth a bit faster than I was hoping.

Are there any ways to limit the update frequency? If I just hold the previous connection open for 20 seconds from the web server will that keep it from logging as frequently?

Hi!

That *might* work even though it's not ideal - I've not tested slowing things down that way. However, if the connection takes longer than 20 seconds then it's dropped and retried (so 10 seconds may be more sensible +any GSM latencies)

I'll see if I can get an option in to specify the upload frequency of the data for web uploads (and I may also change it to enable as fast as half-second samples for those that want it to their own servers)

Done - you'll see the new options in the next update (You can now select, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 30, and 60 second intervals)

I'm looking forward to seeing this option in the next version as well, thanks!
