Hi everyone,
I had my BT OBD Key delivered last week and was able to pair it with my Nexus One with no fuss (my car is a 2008 BMW E82 135i).
On the weekend I took the car for a run through the hills and had a look at the data feed this morning.
I was extremely impressed with the data logging done, and look forward to using Torque at the various motorkhana's and track days I'll be attending as well as the common weekend tour.
One thing I did note that was after leaving the car for about an hour and a half (phone in car, OBD key plugged in). When I started the car I had to reset my clock, calendar date and dash brightness settings. Every other setting was as I left it.
Anyone able to shed some light on why this occured? It's an easy fix of course- I just unplug the OBD key.
Great app, Mr Hawkins. I'm very pleased with it.
Hi Matt,
Looking at the screenshot you posted on 1addicts, there were a few 'data dropouts' using the logging function - these should be a lot more improved in the latest versions, both free and paid.
I'm not sure why the OBDKey is resetting your dash settings, Torque won't be able to do this unless you have entered some custom PIDs in the custom PID editor (with those PIDs being codes to reset those dashboard functions). It may be worth dropping a line to OBDKey to see if they are aware of anything that might help
Look forward to seeing the video 🙂
Some usage graphs here for those interested, from my E82 at a Motorkhana on Sunday
