I just tested my bluetooth adapter on a 2008 passat and it worked fine. Mine is the generic from Ebay, purchase mine from this seller..

Not sure if this helps, but i've test mine so far on my 2001 Audi A8, a 98 Isuzu Rodeo, a 2000 honda prelude, and a 2008 VW Passat 2.0T all of them work.

apparently I wasn't pushing hard enough to seat the device all the way. This morning I gave it a bit more effort and got it to communicate. However, it's not reading boost or intake pressure. Does yours read either of those on your Passat?

mine works on a 2008 golf gt tdi showing boost and intake values, but on my 2005 seat leon cupra r i dont get any boost data.

I know other devices such as vagcom can get the boost figures so it must be a different PID.

Thanks for the info. Well, I'm a bit discouraged that I can't read the boost/intake pressure, especially since we have the same model year cars. Maybe someone else will jump in with some info on how I can fix this.

I'm not getting boost data on my '03 1.8T GTI or my 96 Volvo 850R. Is it possible that there is no boost sensor but instead the ECU calculates the boost based on MAF data?

The reason behind you guys are not seeing any boost data is because the MAP sensor that we have in our 1.8T's only measures in millibar. So the highest you will ever see is 2520 mbar, which roughtly is about 22.5psi.

Another problem will be that the MAP sensor does not see vacuuum as well.

Personally, I think that it would be wise on Ian's part that VW be taken out of the capadability list. VW only allows PID's that they think are important to know. All others are not supported. Ian, i would suggest getting a hold of VAG-COM if you would like to better understand the VW world. Some how that program can read everything about the car.

I to was sad to find out in my 1.8T 20th GLI(2004.5) I can not see anything. I would have loved to use this program in place of a boost gauge. My engine code is AWP. There is a 3 bar map sensor that bosche makes, would we be able to use that sensor? Your ECU needs tuning for it but maybe that could be a fix. Don't give up. I really think that this program is great. Ian please let me know if you would like any help. Thanks

The user Jeffcoan's comment is what caught my eye with, "Its just a matter of finding the correct block in your phones obd ii application to read your current map level"

Then Vegeta GTI goes in depth in also commenting, "by correct block he means the measuring blocks in your onboard diagnostics system(OBD) that you can use to watch hundreds of things..which you can graph,log, and so on with vag-com"

Ian I hope to get some feedback on what you think about all this. I would greatly appreciate it and pay double the fee for your program to get this resolved. I'm sure a lot of VW guys would be very happy. Thanks

Hi, had a look at the thread over there 🙂

Firstly, I'd like to clear that "accuracy" thing one of the people over there has a been in their bonnet about - OBD2 vs Vag-com does basically the same thing - read values directly from the ECU that the ECU has measured, so the accuracy is *exactly* the same between either system 🙂

Basically to see what other PIDs are available for VWs I need a listing of all the undocumented PIDs supported by the ECU (extended modes, most commonly around mode 11-13) - most manufacturers put extra information into these blocks.

Having a list of PIDs and their respective conversions would mean I could support extra information like I do for the Pontiac Grand Prix and VW/Opels
