I tested the Lite version first and it worked on my HTC Hero and with my ELM327 on my Suzuki Wagon R+ 2001.
So i decided to buy the PRO version to get all the funktions and to be able to reset and check my engine fault light.
But after testing the pro version it wont connect with the ELM and if it connects with it it wont connect with the car.
If i switch back to the lite version it connects right away and shows stats of the car.
It´s quite confusing for me.
What have i done wrong?
Hi
Go into the OBD2 settings (in Torque) and check that you have chosen the correct bluetooth to use, as this is one of the things you need to do when you first get the app.
Also, if the free version is installed, then that can block the connection to the OBD2 adapter. The best thing to do is to uninstall it / force stop and then to unplug-replug the adapter in to force it to drop any connections.
The adapters can only talk to one connection at a time and will ignore all others once connected to any app
I have an elm237 as well. Tried the pro version first and could not get it to communicate with the ecm. Checked and double checked all the settings suggested in the various posts. Saw a couple posts saying that the lite version works but not the pro. I just tried the lite version and works perfect. I am not an expert, but seems to be a problem with the pro version.
Hi!
The lite and pro version use exactly the same bluetooth connection code so if it works in the lite, it should definitely work in the Pro version
Check that:
* The adapter is not connected to anything else - the adapter will only accept *one* connection at a time then will ignore all other connection requests. If you have something like another app/laptop paired with it then power these down fully and reset the adapter. Windows can cause a bluetooth connection to the adapter even when no OBD2 software is running on it (it's a windows thing) so beware.
* Some android phones have issues with multiple concurrent bluetooth connections, so for the purposes of testing make sure that you only have one active bluetooth connection on your phone at the time the app is trying to connect. Temporarily un-pair things like handsfree, music streaming, etc to rule this out. The Galaxy S2 has a bug where it can randomly ignore some connections.
* Make sure you have the correct adpater selected in the pro app.
In the Pro version there are *2* places you can set what adapter to use - the global one in the main "OBD2 Adapter Settings" and the vehicle profile specific one (scroll down in the vehicle profile to see this one). - double check that these are set correctly to the adapter (and in the vehicle profile to 'As defined in global OBD2 settings' if you only have 1 adapter)
If you have done all this, then you should get a connection to the adapter. Depending on the state of the adapter(if it is a clone) this could take up to 40 to 60 seconds to happen.
