Hello, I'm new torque pro user, fantastic tool, if I get it work right. My problem is: I can get my huawei ascend y530 phone connected to vgate elm 327 bt v1.5 adapter, but adapter cannot connect to ecu, It try connect to ecu, but then it says retrying ecu...(what does that mean? I didn't found anything meaning for that) car what I have are golf mk4 1.4 16v. But why torque app can still identify my car's ecu right? I done something wrong?
Sorry for unreadable text, English are not my nature language.
ps. I didn't check fuses yet. (I dunno anything affects but obd socket not get power if fuse are fried.)
Car come to me from first owner and he says car come to him without radio and I put aftermarket mp3 player. (I read something about short K-line caused by cable harness, I try check it but I don't get it what cable it is, there are one cable red/white pulled out from radio harness socket and left alone, can't see where it goes.)
(Edit: Fuses are all good to go.
Cable witch are out of radio plug are just K-line cable and are set correct. But now I noticed some relay knocking only when adapter try connect to ecu, but still no connection.)
I get little frustrated because I can't done this like plug and play.
And I want to apologize again this over long and unreadable text. But please, help me.
Did you used or tested the adapter with a different car ?
Relay knocks is not good, they are simply telling you that you are reaching/forcing their design limits. So they simple close/open the line.
I just came from friend who have -02 vw bora 1.4 16V. I can connected to ecu without problems.
And yesterday I was checking my own car, and located knocking sound, it come behind dashboard. Any clue what it can be? Or do I need to give up and buy vag-com cable and use vcds?
Edit: If I understand this right, both car use ISO9141-2 Protocol? but -02 bora use KWP2000 too, so can this mean that my adapter are broken and cannot use iso9141-2 protocol.
what you might try, I have to do this in my truck is tap is reconnect the profile tap where it says profile XXX on the home screen and then on the profile that you want. On mine the car will just flash until I do this and then it sees the ECU just fine.
Does your car's OBD2 connector have pin 15 installed? If it does, it requires an extra communication line than the other car. If there is no pin 15, the interface is the same. Many of the cheaper Chinese-made adapters are missing some parts for all or part of the non-CAN protocols. It is possible yours is missing the pin 15 circuitry.
