Hi,

I just picked up a Bluetooth Adapter (Cheapo one), as well as the TORQUE PRO app. LOOKS GREAT!!!!!

However....I plugged into my 2012 Audi S4, and I cannot get any of the MPG information. Looks like its not reading a MAF or MAP sensor.

I have tried ENHANCED MPG Mode as well.

Any thoughts, suggestions?

Thanks!!

Gerry

Hi

Have you filled out the vehicle profile with the correct fuel type and engine displacement (also make sure the MPG adjust is defaulted to 0).

Next, go into the adapter status screen and check that the Error Count field is 0, if it's not 0, then you will have a faulty adapter (even if it reads '1') (and will have issues as a result) so the best thing to do in that case is get the adapter replaced by the seller.

The last thing to check is that all the 4 boxes at the top of the adapter status screen are green.

Thanks for your reply. I did check all that stuff (read as many posts on forum before posting)

I did select petrol/e10 ethonol as our gas has up to 10 percent ethonol. I will try with just plain petrol.

There is an extensive list of other data points its receiving. Fuel trim, commanded af ratio, actual af ration etc.

I will triple check today when I get in car what you asked, but I didn't see any issue.

Thanks

Okay, 2 displays you need to see if they are working as well are MAP and/or MAF - they're listed as 'Intake Manifold Pressure' and 'Mass Air Flow Rate' in the add displays screen. At least one of these two should have a reading

No Data Received on both of them....

I did try Petrol only, and same thing. (Brought my son to school.. 🙂 )

I love this app so much....I hope I can get the MPG working....

This car is a 3.0T (Supercharged) engine, not sure if that makes any difference...

Do you know if it works with any other B8 chassis A4 cars? (2.0 Turbo?)

There are Zero errors , and all of the screen is green on the OBD2 status....

Im happy to try anything 🙂

Hm

One of those two is required for the MPG calculation,... If you were a normally aspirated vehicle then there would be another way to do it but as you have a supercharger, I need to know boost pressures (there will almost certainly be a sensor for this, but the ECU is denying access to it)

I'll need to have a think to see if there is another way to work this out.

EDIT: May be a way to support this, but I'll need you to beta test for me

I am happy to try anything. Just let me know. Whats boggling my mind is, isnt MAF or MAP part of the standard OBDII protocol? IE--Its not a manufacture specific PID? Or, am I wrong here?

I know there is a way to add additional PIDs. Is there a way for a normal user of this to REPLACE what is used for the MAF or MAP pid? Im just thinking, if it is an enhanced PID to get that and we can figure out what it is. (So you wouldnt need to do a custom version.....)

Just as an FYI, I tried it in my wifes 2008 SIenna minivan when we brought my other son to school. It worked with MPG. (The Non Enhanced MPG calculation seemed to be MUCH more accurate than the enhanced. (As compared to the Instant MPG readout) The Enhanced seemed overly optimistic.

ALso tried in my 2010 mustang GT, and although I was just in garage---it looked like it was receiving MPG data.

Okay, the enhanced calc will be improved in the next update (there was a small bug with it for trip based calculations)

Yes, usually MAP or MAF should be supported. It's uncommon for both to not be supported on such a recent vehicle.

If you could do the following:

* Setup the realtime display so that MAP and MAF, Engine coolant, and Intake Air temperature are visible on the screen.

* Then go into main the general settings, scroll down. Tick 'enable debugging', then quit and restart the app.

* Go to the 'realtime info' screen with those displays, and wait for the app to connect for about a minute. After that, press menu->more...->send debugging info. Put 'Audi MPG issue' in the description (so I know who it's from) and I'll have a look at the debugs to see if the vehicle actually supports it. That'll also give me the extra info I need to add support if I can

Thanks

Ian

Hello Ian,

I uploaded the debug logs you requested. Intake air, mass airflow or intake manifold pressure had no readings 🙁

Thanks for looking at this. This is what I would call a "killer app" for android. Nice job with it!

Go them, thanks - I replied as well 🙂

You have the required sensors to make this work, I've added some extra code in to use it and if testing goes well here should make it into the next update

Hi Ian,

For some reason, I dont see a reply. (I also checked in my spam)

Im not sure if its kosher to post my email address in the forum.

What do you suggest? Should I re-submit another debug log with another email address?? Maybe I made a typo in my email?

Ian,

Got the reply. Thanks for being SO responsive. This is the most support I have received from ANY product I have purchased!

Great work on this product. I look forward to the enhancements!
