Hey,
I was hoping that someone in here can help as I have looked for the answer and I have not been able to find it.
I'm getting ready for a transmission service on my e90 and I would like to be able to check the transmission temperature.
Can anyone help with the correct PID to be able to read the transmission temperature on my vehicle?
I'm using the BAFX Products - WiFi OBD2 / OBDII Code Reader & Scanner with the Torque Pro app.

Please tell me which MSD version you're using and which engine code you have (should be n54)
If it's an n54, try this:
°C 0.75 -48 0 0 F3004650 Getriebeöltemperatur-Layer (1 Byte) Transmission oil temperature layer (1 byte)
--> PID: F3004650 or even 2C01F3004650
-->Equation: Since it says 1byte you should be fine with: R2*0.75-48

What is the MSD version?

The ECU of gas engines is called "MSD" - the ECU on Diesel engines is called "DDE"
I couldn't get my hands on an n52 yet so any possible PIDs are pure speculation. Just have a look at:

BMW PIDs range from simple 1-byte [0d] to complex 6-byte [2c100458] and I even think they can reach up to 12.
On the N43 engine I could find several 4 and a few 6-byte long PIDs

This PID 2C01F3004650 worked, it generates a response.
But I'm getting "no response" from the calculation.

Look at the response using the "Test" button. It might be possible that a single byte is sent from the ecu or that the position is shifted.
