hi all. Great to be here. I have a question about the GM preinstalled pids. When I pull up current misfire data it keeps incrementing about 4 or so every second for every cylinder. seems unusually high as the vehicle runs fine with no CEL on over the past year. Is this misfire data reliable or are the pids not 100 percent as already defined. I am just wondering if I can rely upon this data.

I tried the misfire PIDs, current and history, for all cylinders of my '03 Trailblazer 4.2L I-6 and did not have this problem.

Hi

Modify the PID for misfire for your vehicle, and try the following PID instead of the default one:

Name: Misfire cyl 1 (or whatever it is currently called)
PID: 220126

Interesting, I am also having a problem with misfire readouts. I have a 2006 chevy silverado and the misfires for cylinders 1-4 are reading 5, 6, 7 and 8 respectively and then cylinders 5-8 read something like 245, 246, 247 and 248 respectively.

Will that other PID you mentioned work for mine too?
