even after loading pre assigned ford including powerstroke, i have very few supported. Is there a pre defined list for the 5.4 gas or ditch it?

In 2000, heavier trucks (down to and including F250) were largely exempt from emissions monitoring standards, and thus OBDII reporting. Your truck doesn't have a big robust set of OBDII sensors - and if it's gas the Powerstroke PIDs aren't going to do a bit of good.
