Just got Torque Pro and the OBDLink MX. Nice products…

Being new… I can get gauges and sensors “seemingly” working. With this motor I am interested in monitoring Boost and ICP (Injection Control Pressure), Intake Temp… What I have noticed is the gauges for these go “inactive” quite a lot. I restart Torque and they sometime come back. Sometimes they come back at the next restart. Sometimes, while running, they go inactive. Other OBD2 gauges work (RPM, Engine Temp… etc)always.

Being a IT type of guy, it seems like a protocol/handshake issues. Right now I DON’T have the “Use Alternate Protocol” option selected. For these Ford PS ECUs is there a desired/dependable protocol to use?

Suggestions?

I am a shade tree, DIY type of mechanic… better than most.. and learning

You might try clearing the pid list,
exit Torque, restart Torque then
re-add Ford predefined pids.

Longshot… but has helped others in
the past with getting pids to work.

Use Torque’s quit function to exit app.
The back key and tasker may exit
without proper file closures.

Your protocol is most likely PWM. It
should be listed under Adapter Status
icon functions.

I would suggest selecting the protocol
in your vehicle profile.

Edit:

Question to you about Torque Converter
Slip pid…

Others describe this pid as maxing out
when the torque converter is unlocked.
This equation may need to be a signed
equation? e.g.,

((Signed(A)*256)+B)*(0.0625^0.5)

I believe this is the correct equation
for torque converter slip RPMs.

(0.0625^0.5)=(1/4)=0.25
