Post Re: Ford 6.7L Extended PID List
on: June 30, 2014 (GMT)

First of all, I don’t know the Developer, nor am I Torque Pro expert or a Diesel Tech. A few months back a person introduced me to Torque Pro and I’ve been enjoying it for self interest. I hope this helps some of the folks as other members have helped me. (Thanks Capp777).

That said, I thought I would start a new Thread with a list of Ford 6.7L Extended PIDs that I think are working good enough to be useful to some but maybe not all. If anyone has any PIDs that they would like to add to the list, please post on this thread and I will try to keep the list up to date on the first post of this thread. I’m also still testing about 30 PIDs. If you find any errors please let me know and I’ll edit in the corrections. If you have questions to why a PID or the truck’s computer is giving a certain response, please start and ask in the new thread to help keep this thread organized and less confusing.

MPD56, thanks a TON for all of the hard work you’ve put into getting these PIDs correct. I’m sorry, but I need a little remedial education on how to enter some of these. Some seem to enter just fine in the “manage custom OBD2 PIDs” page, but some seem to be different.

For instance: Barometric Pressure (from Torque App) has a PID entry of: PID – 33 – Done Testing – Torque App PID. The App doesn’t seem to like PID 33…

Or another: Accelerator Pedal Position “E” has a PID entry of PID – [4a] – Done Testing – Custom PID. What is a “Custom PID” and how do I enter it?

Do you have a config file that I can just download and import all this directly instead of trying to manually type all of these into my phone?

Sorry… these are probably very stupid questions but I’m very new to Torque.

Thanks!!!!

I’m new to Torque also. No there very good questions and I didn’t mean to confuse anyone, so your questions might help others. I made changes to the Accelerator E Pedal.

I remove the [] around 4a and hope that it works. Also it really depends on what the resistance reading of the rheostat (Pot) in the pedal is at idle and full pedal to make the equation, with the key on the pedal should read “0” and 100% pushed to the floor, if it doesn’t, then the equation needs to be adjusted for that truck.

As for the Baro, use the Barometric Pressure (from vehicle) that is provided by Torque when adding this display. The reason I posted it, is because some of the other PIDs for Baro don’t work on the 6.7L or show psi. I don’t know how to make that a custom PID yet because the Torque App does some converting of its own depending what you put in the vehicle’s profile?

As far as the file. Once these and other 6.7L PIDs are confirmed working by others, I will contact the Developer and request if he could add them to a Ford 6.7L Predefined PID group like he has for the Ford 6.0. But as you point out, there are some errors that should be cleaned up first.

Thanks for responding

How does the DEF REGEN status display? Is it a gauge with 0 and 100, essentially showing on and off? Is it a percent before regen? Is want something the the edge unit that illuminates, etc during regen.

Otherwise, these look great, thanks for the nice list. Does anyone know what the EGT11 pid difference is compared to a preturbo pyrometers?

MPD56
DPF Regen Status you would use the ON/OFF display and when the truck is in Active Regen, the display will turn green and display “ON”, other wise it will display “OFF” and black depending on your theme.

Soot Mass %. When that display shows 100% most likely when other conditions are met the PCM will start an Active Regen.

Soot Mass is in Grams/litre. It uses the same valve from the PCM but the equation is different. It is just a personal choice.

Note that the equations were mostly done by me, so they are relative to me but some could be fine tuned. I’m doing this for self interest and not an Expert. I know enough to know how much I don’t know and this usually scares me.

I Don’t think that the 6.7L has a pre turbo temperature sensor? EGT11 is a post turbo sensor.

MPD56 Thanks, nice work you’re doing here.

Ok then… Well guess I installed the predefined PID for the wrong PowerStroke. it was in the app, and said Powerstroke included…

So do each one of these pid need to be individually installed, or is there way to import all of them…?

Just added your boost6.7 pid… and it seems to work now.

The last line 7EO the app would not take, so I left it out. Is there a problem with that…?

No, used a cap O (my bad) and wouldn’t except it, so left it blank. But it seems to work for the short ride I took to test it. Will go on a longer ride and make sure.

Folks

Another Torque Pro Fan has put the PIDS into a 6.7L Plugin so that when installed you just pick the PIDS from a list like the Extended Predefined Group. I’ll post the link on the Torque Pro Forum (Link Below).

Hi MPD56 – Since you bumped this do you have any 6.7L pids to share with the class?
We got back from our vacation. Had a great time and sure loved using your 6.7L pids thus far.

Thank you
Harold

Apologies for not getting off my posterior to put these into the app (or as a plugin) – are you happy for me to still do this? as I now have time :)

Ian:

Thanks, if you could please help out the 6.7L members it would be Fantastic!!

I know you’re a busy man. I’ve been busy taking care of family and wish I could do more. I’m still addicted to your great App and need to know more. Capp777 has been a great resource to get me to where I am, but I’m still at the bottom of the learning curve.

Thanks for helping the other member (Sdetweil) on the Ford 6.7L with making a plugin.

I wish I had more PID numbers to work on more gauges.
